  • Training and Development: HORAN ensures that all employees receive an annual training and development opportunity to support their personal and professional growth. HORAN is a leader within the industry and the company requires employees with certifications to keep up with their continuing education to maintain their certification status.
  • Unlimited PTO for 2017: HORAN currently offers up to an annual of 27 PTO days and has announced we will be going to unlimited PTO starting January 2017.
  • Company Paid Profit Sharing: HORAN offers a 100% company paid profit sharing amount to each employee up to 10% of their total comp based on company earnings for the year. This is not a company match it is all company funded.
  • Meals and Stress Relief: During the company's third quarter busy season, HORAN offers meals and stress relief options at a minimal cost to employees. 
  • Free Gym Membership: A free gym membership is provided to all employees and family members on our medical plan. Employees can select from over 20 local gyms within the network.
  • Free Health Coach: HORAN strives to ensure employees maintain a healthy lifestyle, HORAN offers 2 free visits per month to the health coach.
  • Rewards and Recognition: HORAN normally recognizes employees for a job well done. Public recognition occurs during a monthly employee meeting in addition to providing monetary rewards for accomplishments.
  • Bonuses: Bonus structures are in place for performance goal achievement. This is done on quarterly or on an annual basis for most employees.
  • Wellness Sponsorships: HORAN sponsors participation in various wellness related activities to promote good health. This includes 5k walks, steps challenges etc.
  • Various Celebrations: HORAN sponsors an end of the year celebration for employees and spouses to acknowledge everyone's achievement. The company also sponsors a bi-annual sales trip to acknowledge sales accomplishments. Weddings and New Baby's are also celebrated with a company shower.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

The following key characteristics align with a candidate being a great fit for HORAN: HORAN looks for employees that have a passion for being a servant leader in the work that we do, and see the value in promoting physical and financial wellness to clients, due to the major impact it has in life.  We look for those who believe that good health and sustainable wealth creates a better quality of life. We screen for integrity, commitment, accountability, innovation and the passion to give back to the community.  We also screen for technical competence because we are a valued advisor to our clients and we want to ensure our employees have the capability of being subject matter experts in areas in which we serve clients.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Prospect employees get our attention by providing real life examples from their work history that display their ability to deliver outcomes and solutions placing emphasis on the 5 C's Client, Customer, Carrier, Community and Co-worker. This typically shows up  in the form of going the extra mile, following through on commitments, and always striving to be the best.  We also look for thought leaders with a positive personalities who have career goals that align with opportunities that exist within our organization.  Passion about our community whether it's displayed through volunteer efforts or other forms of community involvement is another key.
