We asked HomeAway to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Bear Stay: The Bear Stay program gives employees the chance to enjoy and experience a HomeAway rental for free*, for up to seven nights per year. The properties available to employees are in destinations all over the world and include spacious beach side homes to trendy flats in the city.  *Employees are required to pay taxes on the value of the benefit. 
  • Wellness & Fitness Areas: Our offices offer healthy drinks and snacks for our employees, replenished weekly. Several offices cater to employees who opt to bike, walk or take mass transit to work with bike lockers, onsite showers, discounts and more. Our Austin offices offer workout areas and exercise equipment- the newest office at the Domain even has a dedicated HomeAway gym with all of the latest equipment.
  • Annual Company Events: HomeAway hosts two company-wide events per year, the Spring Picnic and Holiday Party. We celebrate spring with a company picnic featuring petting zoos, ziplines, climbing walls and plenty of bellinis and gelato. Our holiday parties are the stuff of legend. The event regularly features a special theme, which permeates all aspects of the evening- from food and decor to attire and music selection.  We also close down all operations, including contact centers, for these events so the whole team can join in on the fun together!
  • Awards Programs: We've designed a number of programs to reward employees, at all levels of the organization, for a wide-variety of achievements. From quick on-the-spot awards for great work, to a whole vacation for outstanding contributions to our business.
  • Charitable Giving: We are dedicated to giving back to our community! Employees receive 16 hours of charitable giving time off per year to support the community. Our signature giving event is the Austin Habitat for Humanity "Homes for the Holidays" Blitz Build, where employees are invited to help build a home for a deserving family in just three weeks during December.
  • Friday Breakfast: To cap off the week, employees receive a catered breakfast every Friday morning. Ranging from bagels and yogurt parfaits to Texas favorites including kolaches and breakfast tacos.
  • Great Spaces: When it comes to offices, HomeAway has some of the coolest spaces in the world. Various office amenities include retro arcade games, workout rooms, rooftop party decks and unique meeting spaces, such as a two-story birdhouse, an underground den filled with a paper crane installation and much more.  One of our offices also features the truckster, which was featured in a HomeAway ad campaign in 2010.
  • Table Talks: Table Talks is our bi-weekly all staff meeting (food & drinks always provided!) hosted by our executive team. Meeting topics range from hilarious weekend anecdotes to what's coming in the next quarter. Employees at all levels of the organization are invited to come and share their thoughts and ideas on company happenings.
