Perks and Programs

We asked Hilton to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • THRIVE@HILTON: CHANGING LIVES: Thrive@Hilton, our Team Member value proposition, inspires our Team Members to bring their best selves to work every day – and flourish in body, mind, and spirit. Thrive@Hilton advances the way we all work and lead. Through our Thrive Sabbaticals, each year Team Members are selected for the “Give a Dream, Live a Dream” four-week paid sabbatical – a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to give back to the community or achieve a personal goal. Because when our Team Members thrive, so does Hilton!
  • SUPPORTING OUR FAMILIES & FUELING WELL-BEING: All new parents receive two weeks paid time off, plus an additional eight weeks for new birth mothers. And adoptive parents are reimbursed up to $10,000 per child, with no limit to the number of adoptions. Our recently extended bereavement leave now provides up to 5 days paid time off for Team Members when they need it the most and our Employee Assistance Program provides counseling and other resources to help manage stress and day-to-day needs. In addition to numerous on-site gyms at corporate offices and many of our hotels, we offer discounted gym access at 9,000+ fitness centers for all U.S. Team Members. In addition to an on-site health clinic at the corporate office, we offer on-site health screenings, health coaches, and free flu shots for hotel Team Members. We have also recently launched back-up care for not only children but also aging parents and Team Members themselves.
  • GO HILTON: EXPERIENCE THE WORLD: Team Members receive deep discounts on room rates and perks through GoHilton and can share them with family and friends. To celebrate our 100th anniversary, we are expanding GoHilton to 100 nights a year and launching a new GoHilton concierge. Team Members also receive an upgrade in Hilton Honors status so they can enjoy the same privileges as that of a loyal guest. And when a Team Member reaches 10 years of service, they are able to receive the discounted rate for life even after separation. This is one of the most popular programs we offer and in the past two years, more than 5.8M room nights have been used globally!
  • REVITALIZED HEART OF HOUSE: Areas where our Team Members work and relax have been redesigned to be as inviting as guest spaces. Hotel Team Members are enjoying refreshed back-of-house areas, complete with updated Team Member restaurants, nutritious meal options, Wi-Fi access, and music to energize the atmosphere. In addition, Team Members have new Under Armour wardrobes that let them dress for success, comfort, pride, and individuality. Corporate offices are also undergoing renovations with inspiring spaces like The Social, which has transformed into a hub for collaboration and innovation at our global headquarters and offers an array of international cuisine options.
  • PROVIDING GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL: All Team Members deserve a great career, a great leader, and a development path that enables them to thrive personally and professionally. Leading the hospitality industry, Hilton offers Team Members two paths to attain their high school diploma at no cost. Our new Lead@Hilton development framework gives every Team Member a structured path to help them grow as a leader. And Team Members can learn from best-in-class partners like Harvard and Cornell through Hilton University.
  • OPERATION:OPPORTUNITY: Just three years into Operation:Opportunity, we have met our five-year commitment to hire 10,000 U.S. military veterans and family members, and announced a new goal of an additional 20,000 military hires by 2020.
  • BUILDING SECURE FINANCIAL FUTURES: We recently partnered with industry-leading provider, Momentum onUp, to help Team Members build their financial acumen with resources like in-person and virtual training and tools. The wide range of topics include student loans, budgeting, credit issues, home ownership, investment, and more. We recently launched a student loan refinancing tool to further help Team Members consolidate, manage, and refinance student loans. In 2018, 1,000+ analysts became eligible for our corporate Team Member bonus and our new Employee Stock Purchase Program will give all Team Members an opportunity to take greater ownership in the success of Hilton. Our Team Members also have access to exclusive discounts on many items including movie tickets, electronics, fitness products, and mattresses custom-designed for Hilton.
  • TEAM MEMBER RESOURCE GROUPS (TMRGs): Seventy percent of our U.S. Team Members are ethnically diverse and with more than 170 nationalities and 40 languages represented globally, connecting our workforce has never been more important. We currently have eight Team Member Resource Groups (TMRGs) with over 7,400 Team Members celebrating, collaborating, and sharing the perspectives of our diverse workforce. Our TMRGs represent African Americans, LGBTQF, Women, Military, Millennials, and more.
  • RECOGNIZING AND CELEBRATING OUR TEAM MEMBERS: We celebrate awesome work and people with extraordinary awards, modern tools, and meaningful moments. In addition to our principle award, the CEO Light & Warmth Award, we have recently launched the “I am Hilton” Award, a mobile Recognition app, and more to thank Team Members for outstanding efforts. During our annual Team Member Appreciation Week we host fun events around the world, like Team Member favorite, “Pints and Paws,” where we celebrate our amazing Team Members with craft beers and furry friends from local rescue groups.
  • REDEFINING CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY: We are taking a bold step and committing to 2030 environmental and social targets to help us double our investment in social impact and cut our environmental footprint in half. In fact, by the end of 2018, plastic straws will be removed from 650 managed properties worldwide. With programs like Travel with Purpose, Global Week of Service, Passport to Success, and Clean the World, this year Team Members have volunteered a total of 236,930 hours in nearly 5,000 projects, positively impacted more than 108,000 youth, and helped divert 1.5M pounds of soap from landfills.

How to Get Hired

We asked Hilton for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

Fit is a two-way street. We seek people who are engaged by our Mission and we hire people who demonstrate that they want to and will live our shared Values and heartfelt culture. The resources, procedures, and tools we have in place ensure that the people we hire share our Values and heartfelt culture, and that it’s a great fit for them and for us. We strive to ensure that every candidate, regardless of the outcome, experiences The Heart of Hilton throughout the applicant journey.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

We seek Team Members who embody our shared Values and heartfelt culture. Complementing our Values, we also seek Team Members who demonstrate: • Passion: We show passion in the work we are doing individually, as teams, and as a company. • Judgment: We demonstrate the ability to ask the right questions to get the job done. • Collaboration: Extending our Value of Teamwork, we demonstrate a history of collaborative work, not only with our teams, but cross-functionally as well. • Customer Focus: We believe that customer satisfaction should be second nature. • Results: We have the ability to achieve the results desired, as well as the flexibility to adjust the plan to achieve a better result.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We hire 60,000 Team Members each year around the world. We seek candidates for hotels and corporate positions across all regions, functions, and position levels. We continue to focus on diversity, globally, and veteran populations in the US. We seek to hire people who are engaged in their local community, embrace our Mission and demonstrate a commitment for creating heartfelt experiences for guests, meaningful opportunities for their Team Members, high value for owners, and a positive impact to communities where they live and work.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

First and foremost, our Hilton Careers Website (Jobs.Hilton.com) offers a wealth of resources to help job seekers find the right fit, regardless of location, talent area, brand, property, or corporate office. The site introduces them to our Values, our heartfelt culture, job postings, and other important information.  We invite you to join our Talent Network where candidates can receive company news and job openings specific to them.
