  • Education Assistance Program: Highway Toll Administration's Education Assistance Program provides each employee an allowance of up to $3,000 per year for courses of their choice. Courses should be career oriented, but don’t necessarily need to be related to their career. HTA wants their employees to pursue their dreams and they understand that the position of their desire may not be available at the company.
  • Volunteer Opportunities: Highway Toll Administration provides many volunteer opportunities to its employees. They have sent several employees to Ethiopia to meet with the women that HTA supported through a women's empowerment program with Convoy of Hope. They also have helped Convoy of Hope at a local community outreach program for low income families. In addition, HTA annually volunteers by ordering and purchasing shoes and coats for underprivileged children.
  • Birthday and Anniversary GIfts: Highway Toll Administration has a comprehensive program for celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. For birthdays, a card signed by the CEO is sent to their home, the employee’s desk is decorated, and they are given a $50 gift card. For anniversaries, each year the employee is given a $100 gift card, at 5-years of service the employee receives a $500 gift card, a plaque, lunch with the CEO, and a 2 night stay at any Starwood Hotel. For 10 year anniversaries, employees receive a Cartier watch.
  • Free Dental and Vision Coverage: Highway Toll Administration does not deduct any employee contributions towards their dental and vision plans. Employees are able to also cover their families at no cost.
  • Contests: Highway Toll Administration has a very competitive spirit. HTA looks to create contests for fun and comradery.     What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

    A successful HTA'er is caring and compassionate, skilled in communication and very adaptive.   We also look for the person’s ability to work with a team and collaborate effectively.  We also look for people who are smart, passionate about what they do and are positive.  Successful candidates also must be aligned with our core values.

    What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

    A creative cover letter can go a long way.  In the past, we have called some candidates in just because their cover letter was clever, catchy and real.  We're looking to see the passion and desire to work hard to get what you want.

    Are there any unusual or especially rigorous steps of your hiring process that candidates should be aware of?

    Our interview process is fairly standard.  HR conducts an initial phone screening followed by either an in-person or video interview (depending on the location of the applicant). This interview is held with several members of the department to which they are applying.  The final interview is the Culture Interview which includes members of our executive team as well as employees from different departments.  During this Culture Interview, unique questions are asked to determine how the applicant aligns with our Core Values.

    Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

    In the coming year, we are focusing on hiring bright energetic individuals who possess a background in either the Information Technology or Finance fields.  As our company grows, we are developing new projects and initiatives that warrant the need for people that are well versed in these areas and can contribute to a positive team-oriented environment.
