Perks and Programs

We asked Greenleaf Trust to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Health Insurance Coverage: Greenleaf Trust pays 100% of the medical, dental and vision premiums for employees and their families. We provide 30% of the medical insurance deductible for employees and their families, for employees making less than $100,000/year, through a Health Savings Account.
  • Saving for the Future: Greenleaf Trust believes in helping employees save for the future so they match up to 4% of an employee’s 401k contribution if they contribute 5%. Greenleaf Trust also contributes 3% to every employee’s 401k account whether they contribute or not. Both contributions are made bi-weekly along with Greenleaf Trust’s regular payroll cycle. Employees are 100% vested in both their own contributions, and those from Greenleaf Trust, on their first day of employment.
  • Staying Healthy at Work: Not only does Greenleaf Trust provide excellent insurance benefits, they also provide outstanding wellness benefits. All employees are eligible to participate in the wellness program on their first day. Greenleaf Trust reimburses up to $600 in physical fitness expenses to include such things as: Gym Memberships, Triathlon and Running Competition Entry Fees, Golf Lessons, Ice-Skating, Yoga, Gym Equipment, Massage, Nutrition Counseling, etc. In 2016 Greenleaf Trust did a 9 week walking challenge with 90% participation and a total of 30,533 miles walked. We also did weight watchers and some other weight loss challenges for a total of 35% participation and 518 lbs lost YTD 2016. Greenleaf Trust also provides on-site flu shots to employees and their families.
  • Communication & Culture Focus: Greenleaf Trust has an entire team dedicated to maintaining our culture. This team is made up of team members representing all divisions and generations working together to keep employees informed, connected and provide them with things that help make working easier and more fun. Some of the exciting opportunities provided involve donating time, money and resources to local non-profit organizations in our community while at work! At Greenleaf Trust we celebrate a non-profit each quarter and turn it into a company gathering to celebrate the non-profit and our work as a team. Frequently planned and spur-of-the-moment events to encourage team building and community are highly attended and enjoyed; especially if there’s a little competition and cooking, or sports, involved.
  • Work Life Balance: Greenleaf Trust provides onsite package/mailing service, dry cleaning pick up, shoe shine pick up, free coffee, tea and filtered water during the day, discounts at partner restaurants, and on ticket sales. Greenleaf Trust wants to make sure employees are spending time with their families. Employees are provided an average of 26 holiday/vacation days (all vacation was increased in 2016) after one year of employment and 40 days of paid leave for new and adoptive parents. Paid personal and sick days are taken as needed. We encourage our employees to be present at events involving their family. In some situations, telecommuting and flexible work hours have been established to meet family needs. A lactation/comfort room complete with refrigerator, sink, lounge chair, phone and television is provided.
  • Flexible Work: Telecommuting and flexible work hours have been established to meet family needs.
  • Presidents Award: $5K prize for biggest impact throughout year awarded to a team member at our December all staff meeting. In addition to the cash award, a beautiful glass blown trophy created by one of our leaders is presented to the recipient.
  • Employee Discounts: Greenleaf Trust team members receive discounts at partner restaurants and retail outlets and discounts on ticket sales.
  • Spot Awards: During 2016, 25 team members were recognized for excellence—above and beyond efforts. More than $ $36,930 was awarded in spot awards.

How to Get Hired

We asked Greenleaf Trust for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

Greenleaf Trust is always seeking talented, team-oriented individuals who are dedicated to a continuous improvement process aligned with our clients' wants, needs and desires. We look for people that are honest and honorable, patient and positive, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment while acting and operating independently as well as on a team. Collaboration is a key objective, as we are always looking for ways to improve what we do in order to provide better service to our employees and clients. We are a work family and support each other both inside and outside of work. Lastly, leadership, ownership and accountability are important qualities for every team member at Greenleaf Trust.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Greenlea Trust values employees that have shown leadership in past roles, either in a lead, management, or coach or technical capacity and can explain the impact they were able to make while in the role. Highlighting areas of achievement while in school is another great opportunity to share how you have made an impact. Greenleaf Trust is highly involved in the communities we work and live in and want our employees to enjoy doing the same. If you have done something extaordinary for your clients, company or community, we want to hear about it!

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We are fortunate to have very little turnover, with most of our open positions being a result of growth. We have filled several positions over the past 6 years in all divisions: Operations, Personal Trust, Wealth Management, Business Development, Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting/Finance, Research, Compliance, Retirement Planning, Business Information Services and The Family Office at Greenleaf Trust. We will continue to add positions in areas needed as we continue to grow.
