Perks and Programs

We asked Fisher Investments to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Our Medical Plan: Fisher Investments cares about the health and well-being of our employees and their families, which is why employees have the opportunity to choose from five different medical plans, all of which offer 100% employer paid premiums for employees plus their dependents. The medical plan also allows for additional services such as acupuncture, chiropractic, naturopathic care, mental health care and virtual visits . Employees also have the option of participating in a Health Savings Account and receiving a matching contribution of up to $2,250 per year.
  • Our Dental & Vision Plans: Our dental and vision plans offer 100% employer paid premiums for employees plus their dependents, as well as very generous annual allowances. The dental plan features a $2,000 max reimbursement per person per year, plus an additional $2,000 lifetime max on orthodontia. The vision plan covers up to two pairs of frames and lenses, or up to $450 in contact lenses, covered exams, and partial Lasik reimbursement.
  • Our 401(k) Plan: Our 401(k) plan offers a 50% match on every dollar contributed, up to the IRS limit. Employees may enroll in a pre-tax 401(k) or after-tax Roth and have extensive investment options. Some of those options include 11 low-cost mutual funds and a Personal Choice Retirement account, which acts similarly to a brokerage account. Lastly, all account management fees are paid by the Company.
  • Onsite Services Program: Life gets busy, but we’ve found a few ways to bring day-to-day conveniences to the office to save employees time and money. Some of these services include weekly food trucks, a farmers market, shoe shine/repair services, dry cleaning, car wash and detailing services, and mobile gas delivery.
  • Our Discount Program: Our employees have access to discounts from thousands of major brands, retailers and services, including restaurants, fitness facilities, cell phone plans, computers, gifts, travel and more! Additionally, we’ve partnered with over 100 local businesses to provide our employees with discounts on the goods and services from places they frequent most.
  • Our Learning and Development Approach: New employees are given an in-depth introduction to our firm, as well as our culture, values and keys to success. After that we introduce employees to a personalized, cumulative, continuous learning and development framework geared toward their specific role and department; this includes an individualized development plan. We provide an open office environment designed specifically to enable peer mentorship and information sharing. It’s key to provide our people with the tools and resources they need to continue pursuing professional growth throughout their career at our firm, which is evidenced by our large number of internal rotations and promotions.
  • Our Leadership Development: Our internal leadership track is designed in a progressive fashion, evolving alongside employees as they grow and take on greater levels of responsibility. For those who have never led a team before, this means training focused on supporting the transition from individual contributor to manager. For experienced managers, this means ongoing assessments and concerted development efforts that will help strengthen crucial leadership habits and behaviors.
  • Our Time Off: We believe there should be life outside of the office. With 20 days of paid time off per year plus 9 paid holidays, and unlimited partial PTO Fisher employees can maintain an ideal work-life balance. Our people also take comfort in knowing work stays in the office; the majority of our employees don’t have access to company laptops or cellphones. When we leave for the day or take time off, our work doesn’t ever follow us.
  • Our Gifting: Fisher employees are proud to be active in donating to surrounding community organizations. In 2017 alone, FIers organized and oversaw several large donation initiatives. California and Washington employees hosted a backpack and school supply drive for local schools, successfully gathering pallets full of supplies. All US offices participated in a holiday food drive, amassing 2,628 pounds of food (or 2,190 meals) for the less fortunate. And our annual toy drive yielded hundreds of toys for countless children in need. Our company mission to better the investment universe is one that requires a spirit of sacrifice and drive, and our employees strive to further that spirit in all of their charitable endeavors.

How to Get Hired

We asked Fisher Investments for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

Fisher Investments looks for the following in outside talent: unrelenting work ethic, track record of success, stellar communication abilities, a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn. Fisher rewards employees who embody loyalty, flexibility and a will-do spirit.  What is not necessarily needed is prior investment experience. Employees who have a diverse background help us continue our mission to better the investment universe.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Prospective Fisher Investments employees will get our attention by demonstrating strong communication skills, specifically being able to relate their personal experiences to the working world. Being able to speak about their wins and how they’ve been challenged. We’re also looking for candidates who have a willingness to take calculated risk. But one of the biggest areas that can help us better understand if they’re a good fit is to be genuine and show introspection.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

Fisher Investments is hiring individuals of all experiences, tenures and skill levels across the firm. The largest number of positions is on our client service team. We are always interested in Financial Advisors who are frustrated with many of the accepted norms of the industry and want to serve clients as an Investment Counselor.  We are always looking to add to our inside sales team, Account Executive, where individuals of all experience who thrive in a competitive environment succeed. We are also looking for entry-level candidates who can work in either operations or analytics to fill our Investment Associate positions.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

Interested candidates are encouraged to check out our careers site at www.fishercareers.com, www.fisherinvestments.com or connect with our recruiters via LinkedIn to learn more about our opportunities.
