  • Maternity Leave Benefit: FactSet provides eligible employees with a maternity leave benefit of 10 weeks at 100% of base pay. FactSet's maternity leave benefit is in addition to the benefits provided to employees through short-term disability insurance (typically 6 weeks at 100% of base pay). This provides employees with a full 16 weeks of paid maternity leave.
  • CFA Bonus: FactSet offers employees the opportunity to understand our clients' businesses. Those interested in taking the CFA are offered extensive training. FactSetters have a 69% Level I pass rate (compared to the national average of 35%). We will also pay for the exam itself and provide incentives for each level achieved!
  • Free Lunch, Snack, Drinks: FactSet will cover up to $8 per day for employees' lunches Monday through Thursday. Depending on their office, employees have the option of having lunch delivered from a local restaurant or deli. Employees in our headquarter office have a variety of lunch options in our cafeteria. In addition to free lunch four days/week, every office offers fully stocked kitchens which include fruits, snacks, breakfast foods, coffee, tea, sport drinks, and more!
  • Wellness Program: FactSet values the health and well-being of our employees. To keep our employees focused on their health and wellness, we offer an onsite nutritionist in our headquarters, onsite massage, acupuncture, annual biometric screening, and fitness challenges.
  • Training Programs: While training varies from one department to another, FactSet offers an intensive orientation program to all new hires to provide a basic understanding of our business, our products, and our clients. Our Consulting and Engineering departments have created their own customized training programs to provide new employees with the skills necessary to do their jobs most effectively.
  • Paternity Leave Benefit: Paternity leave is provided to allow employees time away from work following the birth or adoption of a child. Paternity Leave is available to all FactSetters when one's wife, partner (of the same or opposite sex) or civil partner gives birth to or adopts a child. Parental leave was recently expanded to four weeks
  • Employee Referral Program: FactSet employees are eligible to receive up to a $2500 referral bonus for eligible employee referrals. There is no maximum to the number of referrals one can submit.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

FactSet is a very collaborative environment so we prefer candidates able to actively engage their interviewer as they would fellow team members in a work setting.  This interactive style provides for a more conversational interview and helps demonstrate how the candidate will interact within the team environment.  Additionally, the ability of a candidate to articulate a clear line of reasoning, and approach a question or problem from a different perspective is typically an indicator of someone who will be a successful hire for FactSet.  Individuals are often faced with having to respond to problems with creative solutions and demonstrating an ability to think outside the box which is both extremely desirable skills and characteristics we value.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

We love to see candidates who are properly prepared for the interview and able to demonstrate knowledge of FactSet; who we are, what we do, and our position in the industry.  Our recruiters have high expectations and a candidate who has clearly prepared and done their homework always stands out.  If a candidate is well prepared, they will be able to articulate how their background and experiences will translate and apply to the position.  This will require a detailed understanding of our organization and the position.  This level of preparation will demonstrate that a candidate has the “care factor” and is willing to put in extra effort and work hard to be successful.  We can teach most of the skills relevant to the role itself, but we can’t teach self-motivation, dedication, team-work, and work ethic.    

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

As we continue to grow we are seeing an increased number of Industry level candidates who can offer unique and diverse perspectives.   We are hiring more senior level and executive candidates into our Sales, Engineering, Product Development, Marketing, Human Resources, and Legal teams.
