  • Chemistry - our Culture: Our Chemistry is what makes Eyemart's company culture special! Associates at Eyemart Express live by five key behaviors which make up our Chemistry. These behaviors are Trust, Compassion, Opportunity, Openness, and Kaizen - continuous improvement.  We have a fun, competitive, and winning spirit.  We push each other to go further and we recognize Associates for going above and beyond.
  • All-Star Managers Meeting: Every year we recognize our top performers in an All-Star Managers meeting at our Home Office. We invite all the Regional Vice Presidents, District Managers, District Lab Managers, and our All-Star managers to join in with Associates from the Home Office for a weekend full of fun and rewarding events. All-Star managers are recognized for accomplishments such as yearly sales, improvements, comp sales, 20+ years of service, culture, and several other factors.  It's an honor for Field Management to be invited to this event, and it's a great opportunity for our Home Office Associates to spend time with and collaborate with our leaders in the field. .
  • Fitness Challenges: Our CEO holds several fitness challenges a year. Associates from both the field and Home Office can put their name into a drawing to win a weekend away in a town where we have a store. During this weekend away, the winning Associates will spend time with the CEO and the Chief People Officer while participating in a fitness challenge (usually a half marathon), learning more about the business in that town, and just having fun with colleagues!
  • Free Glasses and Discounts: Each year Store Associates receive one free pair of glasses and 50% discounts for additional pairs. We also have discount plans for family members as well as annual Friends & Family Events. Many of our independent doctors offer free yearly exams to Store Associates as well.
  • Celebrations!: We love to celebrate holidays and special occasions! The Home Office hosts monthly birthday luncheons as well as an annual holiday party. While stores do various things for birthdays and holidays, we love to collect pictures and share the excitement across the company through our Intranet. In addition to celebrations, we also spark competitions between the Field and Home Office throughout the year!
  • Employee Referrals: Talent breeds talent. All associates are encouraged to be Brand Ambassadors and refer others to also work at Eyemart.If a full-time hourly associate refers someone who is then hired, they are eligible for a referral bonus.

        What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

        We look for enthusiasm and willingness to learn and grow with us. These attributes are reflected in Eyemart's 5 Chemistry Elements - Compassion, Openness, Trust, Opportunity, and Kaizen. Hiring managers discuss some or all of these elements when interviewing candidates.

        Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

        Our Retail Opticians and Lab Techs are the lifeblood of the company, and without them our patients wouldn't have quality, affordable glasses. We are always looking for enthusiastic, hardworking people to fill these roles, whether or not they have prior optical experience. In our “license states,” we need opticians who hold a current Optician’s License from the state.
