What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

At Evergreen we look for skills and qualifications for the job, but even more importantly we look for cultural fit. For Evergreen cultural fit means living our convictions of Integrity, Family, Fun, Creativity and Growth with us. One way to see that someone lives these convictions is if they are Humble, Hungry and (people) Smart. These are ideas from Patrick Lencioni’s book The Ideal Team Player. What this means at Evergreen is that our culture is an atmosphere of leaders serving, and teams achieving goals by working together. We are passionate about our people, and our customers, and how we make home ownership a reality. We also look for people who know how best to build relationships that last for the long term.  These attributes have made us successful for the last 30 years, and they will continue to propel us into the next 30 years!

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Show up, have passion, enthusiasm, and ask questions. Associates who are curious and who bring passion to their work every day are contagious to those around them. They answer the phone with a smile and they’re highly engaged.  Skills can be less important if you don’t have the passion and the drive to succeed.
