Perks and Programs

We asked Eventbrite to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Eventbrite Thrive: Eventbrite Thrive is a program from our Learning and Development team that houses all of the learning and development opportunities across the company. The program includes 1:1 career coaching sessions for managers and individual contributors, workshops, fireside chats with thought leaders, yoga sessions, nutrition, leadership courses, and team bonding activities such as monthly happy hours, and welcome initiatives for new employees.
  • Take the Time You Need: One of our most popular and longstanding perks, Take the Time You Need is our policy towards time off. We believe that in order to do your best work, every employee, or “Briteling” needs to be refreshed and recharged. Britelings have the autonomy and freedom to determine how much time, and when, they take off.
  • BriteCamps: BriteCamps are monthly sessions hosted by Britelings or outside thought leaders that teach everything from brewing beer, to the basics of Python, to how Virgin America build a love brand. We have book clubs led by the authors, and analysis of the current tech market conditions from resident experts.
  • The Brite Hour: A monthly party to celebrate new Britelings, those who are transferring within Eventbrite, and those celebrating their anniversaries and promotions. Each one includes a happy hour, jam session or concert put on by employees, massages and other fun events to get together and celebrate.
  • Wellness Reimbursement: We're only as good as we feel. We aim to keep the Britelings vibrant and active with an monthly reimbursement to cover whatever they do to find optimal health and wellness. This includes gym memberships, fitness classes, personal training, massages, acupuncture, nutrition counseling, juice cleanses, fitness equipment like bikes, blades, and tennis rackets, race entry fees and much more!
  • Inside Jobs: Eventbrite is committed to helping Britelings grow their careers -- beyond offering career development workshops, coaching, and learning opportunities inside and outside of the office, we have a dedicated program to help our Britelings find their next career opportunity at Eventbrite. Inside Jobs helps hiring managers identify people in the company who may be a fit for new positions before posting the role externally. It also provides roadmaps and discussion templates for Britelings who are interested in new opportunities to open the discussion with their current manager and the hiring partner. We send out weekly roundups of opportunities that may be a fit for our global team, and provide international relocation to help our employees move between our eight international offices.

How to Get Hired

We asked Eventbrite for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

We always look to hire diverse candidates with varied backgrounds and experiences. There are a few characteristics that all of our successful Britelings share: grit, a collaborative nature, curiosity and empathy.  Grit, which we call “the make it happen spirit," is critical for any Briteling. We actually have a monthly award dedicated to this very characteristic! We look for someone who will hit the ground running with motivation and creativity when faced with obstacles or challenges. Collaboration is in Eventbrite’s DNA — we work together to find the best solutions. There is no room for destructive egos in the office.  We also value curiosity and openness to learning at every level.  We believe emotional intelligence is the root of connection, great leaders, and trust. Trust is the foundation of great teams, and our product is only as strong as the teams we build.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Candidates who have done their homework and understand our business, product, customers, challenges and opportunities always stand out. We ask every candidate we speak with their experience with our platform. Extra credit always goes to those who have used our products as a consumer, organized an event, or even simply played around with the product in preparation for their conversation with us. We're also looking for candidates who bring diverse experiences to the table and can help teach their teammates.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

As always we're focused on hiring fantastic technical talent in several offices. We are also building out our international Sales and Customer Success teams to help provide white glove service for our organizers across all event categories globally.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

Check out our Briteling Blog to learn more about some of our teams, sign up to keep in touch and receive updates and invites to events we host, or check out what our team has to say about their experiences on Glassdoor.
