We asked Eventbrite for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.
What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?
We always look to hire diverse candidates with varied backgrounds and experiences. There are a few characteristics that all of our successful Britelings share: grit, a collaborative nature, curiosity and empathy.
Grit, which we call “the make it happen spirit," is critical for any Briteling. We actually have a monthly award dedicated to this very characteristic! We look for someone who will hit the ground running with motivation and creativity when faced with obstacles or challenges.
Collaboration is in Eventbrite’s DNA — we work together to find the best solutions. There is no room for destructive egos in the office.
We also value curiosity and openness to learning at every level.
We believe emotional intelligence is the root of connection, great leaders, and trust. Trust is the foundation of great teams, and our product is only as strong as the teams we build.
What can prospective employees do to get your attention?
Candidates who have done their homework and understand our business, product, customers, challenges and opportunities always stand out. We ask every candidate we speak with their experience with our platform. Extra credit always goes to those who have used our products as a consumer, organized an event, or even simply played around with the product in preparation for their conversation with us. We're also looking for candidates who bring diverse experiences to the table and can help teach their teammates.
Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?
As always we're focused on hiring fantastic technical talent in several offices. We are also building out our international Sales and Customer Success teams to help provide white glove service for our organizers across all event categories globally.
