At Epic we're creating immersive, fun to play games and building the tools we need to bring those games to life. We're taking our Unreal Engine beyond game development and enabling creation of high fidelity, interactive experiences in diverse industries, including architecture, media, automotive, aerospace, education, and more.
How to Get Hired
We asked Epic Games, Inc. for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.
What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?
Epic Games employees are smart, talented, and passionate. If you are those three things, and have relevant experience, you're likely to be a great fit here! There isn't one way to show that you have these attributes as they can manifest themselves differently in every individual. Smart includes the ability to solve complex problems as they relate to your field of expertise. Talented means you're at the top of your game and are ready to show it. Passionate means that there is something that gets you out of bed every morning and drives you to continue to innovate. Successful employees at Epic embody all three.
What can prospective employees do to get your attention?
We love when people show us what they can do by building things! Epic is known for the Unreal Engine and it's free for everyone. We love when people show us their skills and passion by using that technology to create something. You can do almost anything with those tools and you'll be using them everyday here, so showing us how you can maximize their potential speaks loads to passion, motivation, and skill.
Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?
We're looking for talented people for all of our teams, but most specifically for our game and technology teams. Our game teams are always looking for talented programmers, artists, designers, and producers to help with the development of our games, including Fortnite, Paragon, and Battle Breakers. Our technology teams are looking for tech artists and engineers across multiple specialities, including rendering, tools, web, backend systems, and data. These individuals focus on developing and iterating on the Unreal Engine to allow us and our partners to bring creations to life, whether it's games, visualizations, or beyond.
