  • Domo Culture: At Domo, culture is not a buzzword. We know it is what we say and do everyday. In fact, we call ourselves Domosapiens. We kick it off right before each new Domosapien’s first day by sending a welcome basket with Domo swag to their home. We hire grown-ups and when you hire grown ups you don’t need to micromanage. Our staff members have the freedom to balance work and life.
  • Family First Focus: Our benefit program overall is in the top 1% nationally, and it is definitely one of the things we hear from our staff that they love. One of our unique concepts is what we call Family First. This includes the following: • Baby Bucks: Domosapiens receive a $1,000 baby bonus for each newborn child. • Haute Mama: Domo believes pregnancy shouldn’t stretch your clothes or your budget.   • Professional Development: We want our employees to be up to date on the latest practices and methods in their field so everyone has the opportunity to travel to 1 professional conference, certification, or course each year. We also have a mentor program with outside coaches, and online tools and resources to help our employees grow their career.
  • Domo Rewards: At regular company meetings we recognize key staff members for extraordinary performance and contribution. • True blue awards: $5,000 & 1,000 stock options given to the top Domosapien from each department. • Blue Rooster awards: $10,000 & 5,000 stock options for performance and contribution with greater impact to the business. • Mr. or Ms. Domo: The best of the best is recognized at our annual holiday party.   • Domo Events: Our work hard play hard culture is evidenced in our events and the fun we have at those events. At our holiday party we play the “filtering” game, which is representative of one of the key features of our product. We award prizes like trips to Disney World and Switzerland. Our most unique event is our DVMA (Domo Video Music Awards) where Domosapiens create epic music videos. One of our most anticipated company meetings is the DVMA preview held at the movie theater. Everyone gets to vote for their favorite on Domo and the winner is announced at the Holiday Party.
  • Tech Benefit: We told you we love technology, here’s how: all new hires are given $500 towards the purchase of a tablet. People working in an office with technology everyday need the best technology to do their jobs. We provide full screen dual monitors, Bose noise cancelling headphones, and standing desks.
  • Giving Back to the Community: We all have a generous bank of time off with the flexibility to volunteer in the community. Combined, Domo employees have given back over 50,000 hours to the community. One great example is Startup Santa where Domosapiens collectively raised enough money to donate more than 28,000 books to kids in need. We’ve also adopted a Title 1 school, and teach coding to 100 5th graders there annually.
  • Domo Pantry: You’ve heard of the Freshman 15, we call it the Domo 20. We provide free catered breakfast, lunch, and dinner and a fully stocked break room – snacks, drinks, fresh cut fruit & veggies. We celebrate birthdays once a month with cake, cookies, and cupcakes. Domosapiens love cake day so much that some of our developers built a countdown clock in our product.
  • Women at Domo: Women hold twenty five percent of the positions on our executive team. So it only made sense that our Women at Domo group started almost five years ago with Domo’s female executives as sponsors. Since its inception, we’ve had semi-annual meetings with industry speakers, career development advice, networking, and some fun. This year we increased the leadership opportunities by creating a Domo Women Council with five seats to help run the program.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

At Domo, we’re known for hiring really great people. The kind of people that let their passion and work speak for itself. And we think that says a lot about us. If you want to love what you do, the people you work with and change the world then Domo is the place for you.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Be patient. We take the hiring process very seriously. For us, it’s a business decision, and we recognize for the candidate it’s a business and life decision, so it is important that it’s the right decision for everyone involved. Be prepared. You’re not just going to come in for one interview and get the job. You’re going to meet lots of different people at different levels in the company so be comfortable talking about yourself. Be detailed. We are going to notice the spelling errors in your resume and online application.  We see every step in the process as an opportunity to get to know you and understand if you’re going to love our uber fast-growth environment.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We are looking to scale in all areas of business: Development, Sales, Marketing, Client Services and G&A.  There is a particular emphasis on senior level software engineers with experience on mobile platforms (iOS/Android) and big data platforms, Technical and Business Consultants along with UX Designers and Product Managers. If you have experience in Enterprise, SaaS technology companies and environments that is ideal.
