Perks and Programs

We asked Cobble Hill LifeCare to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Retirement Benefit: Cobble Hill Health Center makes an employer contribution of 10% of the employee's salary. We know our staff are working hard today and we want to make sure they are taken care of tomorrow. Having peace of mind knowing that retirement funds are accruing and not coming out of one's salary is a great comfort.
  • Lunch program: Every employee is given a free meal on their shift. Our employees are taking care of our patients' physical needs and we want to take care of our employee's physical needs. Nutrition is key to thriving. We make sure every employee has a healthy and satisfying meal while they work.
  • Employee Engagement: Executive leaders are regularly engaging with employees to allow for fluid candid discussion. Through one on one meetings, group meetings, town hall style gatherings around the clock and written communications, employees are given a range of opportunities to speak their minds. We strive to connect with every single one of our employees.
  • Unused PTO Pay Program: PTO days range from 43-56 days per year depending on years of service. All employees are eligible to get paid for earned and unused PTO days. There is no limit and days don't expire. While we encourage employee's to take their time and rejuvenate, we understand that many are passionate about the work they do and don't take all of their time. We also understand that the cost of living has risen dramatically in New York and that these funds become a nice cushion for some employees.
  • Leadership Development: With one on one attention, our executive leadership works closely with middle managers to help them develop into executive leaders themselves. We believe in our team members and want to help each and every one of them develop into the best version of themselves.
  • Internal Promotions: Whenever possible, we seek to promote from within. We are so proud of our employees and truly respect each and every one of them. We believe that our job as employer goes way beyond providing a paycheck. We want to enable every employee to make their greatest contribution possible.  Nothing gives us greater pleasure than watching our employee's climb the ranks and achieve greater success.
  • Culture of Innovation: We constantly encourage employees to innovate and iterate. We believe the future of healthcare will be designed by caregivers who are closest to the patients. We want to nurture a sense of exploration and discovery in our culture. Every idea is worth exploring and we want to hear about all of them.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Donny Tuchman, CEO, regularly talks with employees throughout the organization about the power of diversity. Diversity of thought is the key to excellence, innovation and progress.  Every employee has a unique perspective and that perspective should be honored and heard.
  • Employee exit program: We try to give just as much thought and care to employees leaving our organization as we do for those joining. Although we value all of our employees, we recognize that some will outgrow us or wish to leave for a variety of reasons. When this happens, we show true appreciation for the employee's contribution to date and offer them support and assistance as they exit.
