Perks and Programs

We asked CHG Healthcare Services, Inc. to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • On-site health clinic: Part of CHG's health and wellness program, the medical providers at CHG's onsite health centers are available to employees and their families for primary or acute (non-emergency) care, including lab work. Office visits are free to all employees and their dependents — whether or not they are enrolled in CHG’s medical plan — and employees do not need to use PTO for appointments. We have also rolled out on-site mental health providers in our Salt Lake City office.
  • Employee Compassion Fund: CHG employees can donate to a fund that provides tax-free financial grants to employees facing financial hardships. Last year, the fund provided 25 tax-free grants, totaling more than $40,000, to employees in need.
  • Transgender benefits: Our plan pays for transgender benefits with no limit on the amount we pay. This benefit includes medical management, behavior therapy, gender re-assignment surgeries and gender dysphoria treatment. In addition, our Salt Lake City headquarters offers gender-neutral bathrooms for our employees.
  • PTO gifting: Our PTO gifting program empowers employees to donate a portion of their accrued PTO to coworkers who need to take time off for a serious health condition, birth, adoption or foster placement of a child, or to care for a spouse, domestic partner, child or parent with a serious health condition. Employees are eligible to receive gifted PTO after using all their accrued time off. Without the gifted PTO, the absence would be unpaid. In 2016, employees gifted 2,390 hours of PTO to fellow employees in need.
  • Humanitarian trips: Every year, CHG offers life-altering opportunities for its employees to attend various humanitarian trips. Through our Difference Maker award, employees nominate peers who are extremely active in community service. Six winners are then chosen to join the CEO on a company-sponsored humanitarian trip. This year's trip was to Kenya where the group helped build a school for boys. In addition, CHG offers subsidized humanitarian trips to employees. While the trips serve to make a difference in domestic and international communities, they also give our people fresh insight on life and help them grow through new experiences. Recent trips include Kenya, Haiti, Peru and the Navajo Nation.
  • Health insurance discount: CHG rewards employees for making healthy lifestyle choices with a healthcare premium discount. To receive this discount, employees need to complete designated wellness activities that include lunch and learns, and free onsite health screenings.
  • Volunteer time off: CHG employees are given eight hours of company-paid volunteer time off each year to volunteer for a non-profit organization of their choice. Last year, employees used more than 4,000 hours to give back in the community.
  • Business partner award: Employees nominate their non-sales peers who live CHG's core values. At the end of the year, winners from each division have a chance to attend the company's annual President's Club. Past President's Club destinations have included San Francisco, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico.
  • Fun room: Whether it’s shooting pool, playing a game of shuffle board, throwing darts or challenging a co-worker to a game of pinball, CHG employees have a space to let loose and enjoy downtime with friends. Other features of the Fun Room include a ping pong table, arcade games, TVs and a Foosball table.
  • Tuition assistance: Part of CHG's core value of Continuous Improvement, the company supports employees' growth and development through its tuition assistance program. Employees can apply for tax-free assistance for any certification or degree program after six months of employment, with reimbursement amounts ranging from $1,000 for new employees and up to $5,250 for more tenured employees.
