Perks and Programs

We asked Cadence to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Executive Roundtables: The executive management team provides small group discussion opportunities on important topics for employees. This is open to everyone and provides a network outside the regular day-to-day unit. Approximately 1000 employees participate in these in-person executive sessions per year.
  • Cadence Recognition Program: The Cadence Achievement Awards recognize employees whose accomplishments have a substantial impact on the success of the company. Honorees receive equity grants in the $40,000 range, plus a spot bonus of approximately $5,000. Employees are recognized on stage at the Quarterly Communications meeting and during a special gathering with the CEO and executive management team. The company also encourages peer-to-peer thank you’s through a global program that spends over $1 million annually to recognize employees. The program lets any employee recognize any another employee, regardless of level, for a job well done. Accompanying the award is a gift card of $25 to $1,000. Over 90% percent of the employee population has been recognized through this program.
  • Intern and University Program: Cadence partners with top universities around the globe to donate our technology to the next-generation of EDA innovators. Cadence hires interns and recent college graduates in all areas of the business, and offers opportunities to grow in their careers while making a difference for customers and the company.
  • Parent Support: Cadence offers 8 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers and 4 weeks for non-primary caregivers. Cadence also has a fertility preservation benefit and an adoption reimbursement benefit to help our employees in their family-planning efforts. Both benefits help to cover the cost of application, treatment, and support in their family planning efforts. These benefits help relieve some of the financial burden parents face when growing their family.
  • Employee Referral Program: Bonuses of up to $5,000 are awarded to employees who make appropriate referrals in the hiring process. Thirty-one percent of the company's hires are referred by current employees.
  • Cadence Cares: Cadence actively supports our employee's work-life balance through our Cadence Cares programs which enables employee giving in the communities where they live and work. Employees are given five paid days off of work each calendar year to volunteer for the nonprofit or school of their choice. We sponsor an annual volunteer campaign that gives employees at all of our sites an opportunity to engage in their community to make one global impact. In addition, Cadence also offers a Global Matching Gift program to increase contributions to the causes our employees are passionate about.
  • Growth and Development: Our High-Performance framework defines the practices and values demonstrated by leaders at each level of the company from individual contributors to executives. When employees access the High-Performance Culture Portal, they will see recommended learnings across the many development and training platforms that Cadence offers tied to each performance attribute, and targeted to their role level at Cadence.
