  • Annual 20 Year Club - Employee Recognition Luncheon: Each year we have a luncheon to celebration our Team Members.Special recognition is given to those who reach their 20 year mark. The theme and food varies with each team member that is being recognized. A token of appreciation is given to each of the 20 year team members and a good natured roasting also takes place. It is a fun day, filled will memories, laughter, and great food.
  • Christmas Gift Angel Parties: Following the tradition started in the mid-1950s during the tenure of Superintendent Orville Miller of the then-named Allen County Home, we celebrate Christmas with our Christmas Gift Angel parties in December. How to Get Hired

We asked Byron Health Center for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

Byron cares deeply about our team members and carefully select new team members. Our focus in finding the right cultural fit for our community is based on our core values – communication, compassion, respect, integrity, commitment, and passion. This is done by behavioral interviews and workplace assessments.Behavioral interviews provide us with information regarding job-related qualities that go along with our company core values. The workplace assessment includes personal value cards, personality profile, and an emotional intelligence quiz. In doing the workplace assessment tests we are trying to better understand their strengths and if they are suitable for the role in which they have applied. We feel if the interview and workplace assessments indicate the behavioral traits in our core values, there is a greater chance for successful and meaningful employment for them.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

A candidate that understands what we do and who we serve. We want our team to be engaged and have a passion for serving. We are looking for someone who shows stability in their work history, excitement for what they do and a love for serving others.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

Our focus will be to develop and retain the existing team members as well as finding exceptional external candidates. We are committed in providing career growth opportunities to our team members and future team members. We look for a motivated individual who wants to invest in themselves to become better at what they do or what they want to do. Do they have the potential to learn new skills, are they determined and will they be engaged.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?
