Perks and Programs

We asked Brown Parker & DeMarinis Advertising to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • BPD Basics: BPD's values are essential to our culture and are the foundation upon delivering service excellence internally and externally. Basic B: BPDerrrs come first Basic A: A+ness always Basic S: Show up Basic I: Inspire fun Basic C: Care for each other Basic S: Stand by your word
  • Employee Referral Bonus: BPD provides a referral bonus award of $2500 for any BPDerrr who refers a friend/colleague who is hired and is employed for a minimum of 90 days.
  • Shoutouts: At weekly wrap-up meetings on Fridays, each employee has the opportunity to recognize others for their hard work by giving them a shoutout and connect it to one of the BPD Basics (see Program 1).
  • Anniversary Wheel: On BPDerrrs' anniversaries they are given an opportunity to spin a prize wheel with chances of winning an extra vacation day, gift cards and select parking spots or CASH.
  • Training: BPD has a significant budget set aside each year earmarked for each BPDerrr to complete continuing education courses and any other job-related training for which they have interest.
  • Unexpectedly Delight: BPD believes its people (BPDerrrs) come first--before clients, before profits and certainly before senior leadership. We do this because we believe our people will treat our clients well only if they are treated well themselves. One of the ways this is manifested is through a culture of "unexpectedly delighting" the team. This could be something as small as surprise snacks to grander gestures like Summer Fridays where the agency closes at 3 PM to allow the team to get a jump start on their weekends.
  • Masseuse: An on-site masseuse is often available for 20-minute chair massages as a small thank you for all that BPDerrrs do.
  • Celebrations: BPDerrs come together to celebrate birthdays (for which we also give an extra vacation day), weddings, babies, etc. On Halloween costumes are "virtually" mandatory, we run/walk in an annual corporate 5K, and our annual holiday party is a chance for BPDerrrs and significant others to come together at the year's end.
  • Free Food & Drinks: BPD maintains a fully-stocked candy and snack bar and a refrigerator with a variety of beverages available to each BPDerrr. Breakfast is provided every Monday and bagels every Friday as well as regular catered lunches and dinners.
  • Excellent Benefits: BPD offers a comprehensive and valuable benefits program, including fully-paid health insurance (50% for dependents), dental, vision, gym membership as well as life insurance, short-term disability and FSA options. In addition, BPD provides generous paid holidays, vacation and sick days as well as 90-day maternity leave. A 401k matching program (100% up to 5%)is available to BPDerrrs upon completion of one year of employment.

How to Get Hired

We asked Brown Parker & DeMarinis Advertising for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

When we meet with candidates, we want to ensure they are the right culture fit for BPD.  Candidates must be willing to demonstrate that they share our core values (the BPD Basics), our six keys to our collective success, through personal or professional examples.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

During the interview process, a candidate stands out when they display the values our company stands by.  If they are inspired by their work, go above and beyond in everything they do, and want to continually learn and grow, they probably share our values and will be serious candidates.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We are currently hiring for a number of positions, including: Strategy, Account Management, Creative, Business Development, Client Services, Media, Medical Writing, Research and more.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

Potential BPDerrrs can visit our website (http://www.bpdadvertising.com) to learn more about who we are and what we do.  All available jobs postings are on our LinkedIn account (https://www.linkedin.com/company-beta/1271917/). They should apply there instead of sending e-mails to team members or calling.
