We asked Brad's Deals for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.
What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?
We are an ownership culture. All Employees are part owners and invested in our growth, so we look for people that are excited about that prospect, as it does impact the salary we offer. Of course, we want the technical knowledge, but we also want someone that is going to add to our culture of making awesome and make it even better. We look to find people that want to get their hands dirty and are not afraid to try new things. We want people that are team players and are also accountable.
What can prospective employees do to get your attention?
When looking at prospective employees we want to see that entrepreneurial spirit – either in what they have attempted or that they have worked in this environment. We also review how engaged they are in social media, what they have to say on Twitter, for example, and how much do they know about our space and our company. On the technical side, we like to see what you are or have created and throughout the company, we like to see that thirst for continuous growth and knowledge. Those people that stretch themselves are going to go far here.
Are there any unusual or especially rigorous steps of your hiring process that candidates should be aware of?
Our focus in recruiting is to find someone that is going to fit within our culture, first and foremost. To do so, our recruiting process is more rigorous. We have the typical HR, hiring manager and team interviews, but we also do technical assessments and code pairings as well asking for the candidates for higher level roles to present 90-day plans to the executive team. We want to make sure that not only is this the right addition for us, that its also the right home for the candidate.
Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?
We will be focused on finding developers for back-end, mobile and data development. We will also be looking to add to our partner development team as well as to our Product team with UX being a focus.
