Perks and Programs

We asked Blackstone to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • A FOCUS ON DIVERSITY: Blackstone embraces diversity and the value it brings to the workplace. The three programs highlighted below focus on fostering networks, increasing the pipeline of qualified diverse candidates, improving retention, and establishing communities that welcome employees from all walks of life. BLACKSTONE DIVERSITY & INCLUSION is advancing the dialogue on the importance of diversity for our business through panel discussions and firm events. LGBT employees and supporters can interact and connect at events thanks to OUT BLACKSTONE. OUT BX recently partnered with the Ali Forney Center to make “essentials” kits for homeless LGBT youth. Our VETERAN’S NETWORK focuses on bringing in talented veterans and proven military leaders because these unique perspectives add value and enhance our business and culture.
  • INVESTING IN OUR WOMEN: Blackstone is focused on hiring more women and helping them grow and thrive within our firm. The FUTURE WOMEN LEADERS PROGRAM provides sophomore women early exposure to finance through information and skills building seminars, networking events and ongoing mentorship. Incoming young women professionals can rely on BX WIN to develop critical networks early in their careers. BLACKSTONE WOMEN’S INITIATIVE drives the advancement of women at Blackstone by creating a strong community of women professionals, recruiting and retaining talented women, providing a platform for women to connect globally to share experiences and helping them access career development tools and resources. In 2016, Blackstone hosted its first student from Girls Who Invest, a non-profit focused on bringing more women into asset management and investing careers.
  • COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY SERVICE: BLACKSTONE CONNECTS provides employees with the opportunity to engage in community service. In 2016 our employees donated over 6,000 volunteer hours to their communities. Recent highlights include: CYCLE FOR SURVIVAL: Employees raised over $155,000 for critical rare cancer research. CITY HARVEST: Since 2005 Blackstone has raised over $650,000 for City Harvest, helping to feed over 28,000 families in New York City. LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY: Since our initial partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and Team in Training (TNT), Blackstone has raised over $3M to help fund lifesaving blood cancer research around the world. Over the past 9 years, over 500 Blackstone employees from 19 different business units and regional offices have come together to bike, run, and walk for this important cause.
  • GENEROUS LEAVE FOR LIFE EVENTS: Blackstone understands that life happens and provides leave to reflect such events. We offer 16 WEEKS PAID MATERNITY LEAVE with optional phase back program for new mothers; 16 WEEKS PARENTAL LEAVE for ADOPTION: Partners/spouses in same-sex families are eligible for this leave in the case of adoption; Additional 5 DAYS LEAVE for MARRIAGE/CIVIL UNION/DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIP: It is Blackstone’s policy to grant five additional days of vacation during the year in which an employee with one year or more of service with Blackstone gets married, forms a civil union or registers in a domestic partnership.

  • NEW HIRE COLLEAGUE SUPPORT PROGRAM: Blackstone’s Colleague Support Program promotes our inclusive corporate culture, bringing together employees across business units and offices with diverse talents and backgrounds. Helping to facilitate the adjustment of new employees into the firm, the program provides new employees early opportunities to benefit from the knowledge of others outside their immediate work groups.
  • BLACKSTONE DIVERSE LEADERS PROGRAM: In 2016, we launched the BX Diverse Leaders Program to identify and attract diverse undergraduate college talent early in their academic careers.
