Perks and Programs

We asked Balance Innovations to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Training Reimbursement: We reimburse up to $1,000 per year for employees to explore any training opportunity they choose, with very few restrictions. We require only that the training helps them in some way in their current position or a future role with Balance Innovations.
  • Employee Referral Program: Employees receive a $3,500 bonus for referring a new team member who stays with the company for one year.
  • Monthly Company Happy Hours: Each month, our team enjoys an on-site, company-wide happy hour we call Third Thursdays. Games and contests often keep things lively!
  • Family & Employee Events: We host a variety of events throughout the year, including a family carnival, Take Your Kid to Work Day, our Halloween party, a field day and a holiday party for employees and their guests. We want to make sure that not only do our employees love Balance Innovations, but that their families enjoy being a part of our team as well.
  • Paid Time Off: New employees start with four weeks of PTO and 10 paid holidays. In their second year, they get five weeks, and they get six weeks each year beginning in their third year.
  • No Dress Code: We want our employees to be comfortable, and if that means shorts and flip-flops, so be it!

How to Get Hired

We asked Balance Innovations for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

We look for three characteristics: Humble (Will they be a good team player?), hungry (Are they a continual learner?) and smart (Can they be in tune with those they work with?).

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

We always pay close attention to a candidate who has educated themselves on our technology and our business and who we think will work well with our team. Of course, it’s important to have the right skills and experience, but, to us, fitting in with our culture is equally valuable.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

Software engineers.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?
