Perks and Programs

We asked Badger Mining Corporation to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • 100% Paid Benefits: Badger Mining provides all full-time associates with company paid health, dental, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, long term care and short and long term disability. The company pays 100% of the premiums for these benefits (for the dependent and their family).
  • TEAM Culture: Each associate is part of a core work team and this team determines how their work will be done. The leaders set the goals and the team determines how they will get there. Badger Mining believes associates know their jobs best and associates appreciate the trust the company places in them.
  • Profit Sharing: On a quarterly basis Badger Mining shares a percentage of it's profits with all associates in the form of cash bonuses.
  • Health and Wellness: Badger Mining offers a robust wellness program which has been recognized by WELCOA as a Platinum and Gold Wellness Plan. Health and wellness is a company value and fully supported by the company's leaders.  Significant dollars are spent to develop and execute a wellness program to help Associates and their families live a healthy life.  Associates and spouses are eligible to participate and can earn annual rewards up to $500 each. Rewards can be in cash, vacation days, 401K deposits and wellness apparel.
  • Celebrating Associates: Each Associate receives a gift, of their choosing from our catalog, on their birthday.  The leaders have an annual Associate's Day to thank all Associates for their hard work. The Leaders provide a celebratory lunch at each location.
  • Associate Development: Company support of all associate's participation in professional organizations (meetings, conferences, membership dues). Associates are encourage to develop additional knowledge, skills and abilities through cross-training opportunities, succession planning, mentorship and apprenticeship programs.
  • Safety: All associates are trained they have the ability to shut down a process if they find it unsafe. The company has an extremely low workers compensation mod which is significant as we work in a higher-than-normal risk industry. Safety is a value and part of the company culture.
  • TEAM Philosophy: This drives our associates to lead and following in our values and work together. We have an open-door policy where any associate can talk to any one of our leaders to voice ideas, opinions or concerns. Associates come to recognize how their efforts affect their team and the company. Teams are charged with determining how they will get the job done versus having that dictated by "management". The philosophy also includes leadership sharing financial details with associates so they better understand how they can impact company performance.
  • Feedback/Evaluation: We use a monthly check-in process versus annual reviews for all associates. Each associate meets with their coach on a monthly basis to discuss goals, priorities, struggles but also positive feedback. Associates are not limited to just annual increases rather as they increase knowledge, skills and abilities they have the opportunity to increase their compensation.
