Perks and Programs

We asked AT&T to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Benefits that matter: AT&T takes a holistic approach in offering competitive compensation and world class healthcare and benefits packages. Under "You Matter", our programs help employees achieve their best selves at work and home. • Your Health Matters connects employees to health and wellness tools and resources to foster a culture of healthy living. • Your Money Matters empowers employees to achieve financial wellness through financial planning programs, tools and resources. • Your Career Matters offers best-in-class learning and development to help employees pursue careers they desire. • Your Team Matters provides tools and resources to help supervisors manage high-performing, collaborative teams. • Your Community Matters provides the resources employees may need to make a difference where they live, work and play.
  • Technology discounts to keep you connected: AT&T employees are offered several fantastic discounts from both the company and key business associates. For example, employees get 50% off their wireless rate plan, including data, voice and text for all lines of service on up to two accounts. They also receive 50% off select accessories and specialty items, waived upgrade and activation fees, and waived credit deposits for up to four lines. On the entertainment side, employees receive free DIRECTV service, along with the highly sought-after NFL Sunday Ticket Max package. In addition, some of our top business associates offer employees discounts through the AT&T Preferred Customer Discount Program, which provides access to special prices on clothing, cars, electronics and hotel stays.
  • Developing our workforce & expanding opportunities: In 2016, $250 million was spent on employee training and about 20 million hours of training was invested. We provide personal and professional development opportunities through our award-winning AT&T University (TU). It features more than 300 online courses and a variety of career management tools. TU offers collaborations with Notre Dame, the University of Oklahoma, Udacity, Coursera and Georgia Tech. More than 25,000 enrolled since 2014 in courses that prepare for high-demand tech careers and the company provided $34 million in tuition aid for employees pursuing learning outside of AT&T. Leading with Distinction is our flagship leadership program for senior managers, frontline employees, and managers to strengthen connections, achieve alignment and facilitate culture change. Our high-potential and accelerated development programs target managers who demonstrates the performance and aspiration for higher positions.
  • Everyone can be a part of our innovation culture: The AT&T Foundry is a network of innovation centers designed to foster collaboration by bringing together leading innovators and cutting-edge technologies. In each foundry, we gather employees with third-party developers, startups and innovators to accelerate innovation. To further drive engagement around the innovation process, AT&T created the ultimate “suggestion box,” called The Innovation Pipeline (TIP). Employees are also empowered to share ideas through our HERO tool, to provide feedback on system, policy, process and execution issues that may prevent them from delivering an effortless customer experience. Our AT&T internship program gives undergraduates and MBA students an opportunity to experience the inner workings of a Fortune 50 company.
  • Contributing to our communities: AT&T has been ranked the top community-minded communications company by The Civic 50 in 2017. Employees volunteered more than 5.4 million hours of their time to important causes in 2016. In 2017, an astonishing 4,288 employees received the President’s Volunteer Service Award.  Our It Can Wait movement seeks to end texting while driving and Do One Thing (DOT) program invites employees to take steps to improve our world. AT&T Aspire, our education initiative, partners with organizations such as Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Girls Who Code, to help shape the ways technology is altering education. Since 2012, our employees have provided more than 1.5 million hours of mentoring to more than 260,000 underserved students.
  • All voices matter: In 2017, AT&T was listed as #3 on DiversityInc’s Top 50 companies list for diversity, #1 in recruiting, #2 in supplier diversity and #3 for employee resource groups. With nearly 136,000 memberships through our 12 ERGs and 12 Employee Networks (ENs), it’s easy to see why. Introduced 50 years ago, our ERGs cover a range of populations, including women, generations, veterans, individuals with disabilities, members of the LGBT community and more. They do a tremendous amount of work in the community, offering support, advocacy, education, mentoring and development opportunities. AT&T’s ERGs are voluntary 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Our ENs focuses on specific business or professional development topics and organized around cross-functional diversity.
