Perks and Programs

We asked AT&T to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Diverse and Inclusive: We create an environment where employees can thrive and achieve their professional goals. Our diversity commitment focuses on four areas: our people, communities, customers and suppliers. We're listed as #3 on DiversityInc’s Top 50 companies list for diversity, #1 in recruiting, #2 in supplier diversity and #3 for employee resource groups. Our Chairman and CEO Randall Stephenson and Chief Diversity Officer, Corey Anthony, signed the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion pledge on behalf of AT&T. We’ve incorporated the Gender Equality Measure (GEM score) into all of our ads - a full six points above the 100 score threshold to ensure the positive portrayal of women in advertising.
  • Every voice matters: We stand for equality - embracing our differences and speaking with our actions. With over 127,000 employee resource group (ERG) and employee network (EN) members, it’s easy to see why. Introduced 50 years ago, our ERGs cover a range of communities, including women, generations, veterans, individuals with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ community and more. They do a tremendous amount of work in the community, offering support, advocacy, education, mentoring and development opportunities. Our ENs focus on specific business or professional development topics and are organized around cross-functional diversity. They address challenges to achieve successful results while increasing members’ professional development.
  • Impacting our world: We've been ranked the top community-minded communications company by The Civic 50. In 2017, employees volunteered nearly 1.8 million hours of their time to important causes. This year, an astonishing 4,386 employees received the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Our It Can Wait movement seeks to end distracted driving and invites employees to take steps to improve our world. AT&T Aspire, our education initiative, partners with organizations such as Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Girls Who Code, to help shape the ways technology is altering education. Since 2012, our employees have provided more than 2.7 million hours of mentoring to more than 350,000 underserved students.
  • Protecting our world: Environmental sustainability matters. We’re using the power of our network and our people to build a better tomorrow. We purchased 820 megawatts of wind power, one of the largest corporate renewable energy purchases in the U.S. It’s a key component of our 10x Carbon Reduction Goal to enable carbon savings 10x the footprint of our operations by 2025. We reduced fleet emissions by 174,403 metric tons of CO2e and reduced the size of our domestic fleet by more than 1,100 vehicles and refurbished or recycled approximately 146 million devices. FirstNet gives first responders nationwide a groundbreaking new choice to access fast, highly secure and reliable communications whenever and wherever they need them. As an Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Cities leader, we're helping cities address the issues facing their communities with remote monitoring and more efficient operations solutions.
  • Stay connected with discounts: Our employees are offered fantastic discounts from the company and key business associates. Employees get 50% off their wireless rate plan, including data, voice and text for all lines of service on up to two accounts. They also receive 50% off select accessories and specialty items, waived upgrade and activation fees, and waived credit deposits for up to four lines. On the entertainment side, employees receive DIRECTV service at no cost (depending on service option, a small equipment fee), along with the highly sought-after NFL Sunday Ticket Max package and HBO at no additional charge. Some of our top business associates offer employees discounts through the AT&T Preferred Customer Discount Program, which provides access to special prices on clothing, cars, electronics and hotel stays.
  • Innovating and collaborating: AT&T embraces innovation. The AT&T Foundry is a network of innovation centers aimed at fostering collaboration with the ultimate combo of leading innovators and cutting-edge technology. In each foundry, we accelerate innovation by gathering our brightest employees, third-party innovators and startups. We created the ultimate "suggestion box", called The Innovation Pipeline (TIP) to keep employees engaged. With more than 130,000 members, TIP has led to over 50,000 ideas — from new tools in the field, to helping travelers get a ride from the airport, to providing business customers with a bill preview. The Opportunity Marketplace (TOM) provides connections between our employees and opportunities through classifieds, job swaps, and collaborative experiential learning labs.
  • Developing our global workforce: $200 million is spent on employee training annually with about 5 million hours of training dedicated to skills transformation. We provide personal and professional development opportunities through our award-winning AT&T University (TU). 100% of our self-paced courses are mobile enabled, which means access to learning at their fingertips. TU offers collaborations with Notre Dame, the University of Oklahoma, Udacity, Coursera and Georgia Tech. Leading with Distinction is our leadership program for senior managers, frontline employees, and managers. It is designed to strengthen connections, achieve strategic alignment, and help facilitate culture change. Managers who demonstrate the performance and aspiration for higher positions can fast-track their learning with our high-potential and accelerated development programs. Our internship program gives undergraduates and MBA students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and explore the inner workings of a Fortune 50 company.
  • Offering benefits that matter: We offer competitive compensation and world class healthcare and benefits packages. Under "You Matter", our programs help employees achieve their best selves at work and home. Your Health Matters connects employees to health and wellness tools and resources to create a culture of healthy living. Your Money Matters empowers employees to achieve financial wellness through financial planning programs, tools and resources. Your Career Matters offers best-in-class learning and development to help employees pursue careers they desire. Your Team Matters provides tools and resources to help supervisors manage high-performing, collaborative teams. Your Community Matters provides the resources employees may need to make a difference where they live, work and play.
