  • Silver Lining: We provide pro-bono professional services to support the adoption of cloud technologies in a select number of nonprofits each year. We also believe in supporting and sustaining a culture of volunteerism throughout the company by providing an additional 8 hours of volunteer time off each year to facilitate a meaningful volunteer activity on company time. Appirio also sponsors a company-wide day of service every year called Future of the Cloud Day. For this event the entire company takes the day to get together with other Appirians to give back to their local communities.
  • CloudFit: Cloudfit is more than a traditional wellness program that focuses on fitness and nutrition; We take a holistic approach to promote a multidimensional positive approach to wellness including physical, mental, emotional, and social needs. We seek to provide outlets, resources, and collaboration for holistic wellness. We employ a third-party program in addition to employee committee members to design individual and team challenges and generate enthusiasm within the company. This includes free massages, fitness classes, health and wellness classes, and free immunizations.
  • Lean In: Lean In is Appirio’s implementation of the groundbreaking program by Sheryl Sandberg. Both men and women are invited to join a ‘circle’ of likeminded peers who rely on confidentiality, communication, and commitment to host monthly meetings. Lean In is dedicated to promoting gender parity in the workplace, but we have found that it has fostered relationships and become a true ‘meeting of the minds’ for those involved. We are proud that over 150 Appirians are involved in Lean In and that the executive sponsor for this program is none other than our CEO, Chris Barbin.
  • Employee Rewards and Recognition: Appirio’s internal rewards and recognition program is a gamified system we refer to as AGE – the Appirio Gamification Engine. Employees earn points and gamification badges by completing trainings, certifications, awards, and creating resources on projects. Managers also have points that they give out to their teams in recognition of a job well done. Last year we gave out 9,917,700 points in our AGE system. Employees' earned points go into our Company Store where they can purchase Appirio branded items and extra rewards. Our company store inventory ranges from small items such as Appirio branded shirts and mugs all the way to Go Pro's, personal trainings, and company matched donations.
  • Regional Road Shows: While many of our employees enjoy the flexibility of working from home, we also recognize the importance of meeting in-person to solidify relationship and break potential monotony. Appirio Roadshows gather regions across the country to spend a day with our CEO that includes a completely transparent Q&A, business simulation games, and pure social fun. Roadshows are often touted as the best day of the year for Appirians!
  • Appirio 101: Appirio 101 is our foundational, introductory training course. In one week, new hires learn a wide spectrum of modules including how to give our sales pitch, what our customers’ journey entails, and a segment on how the company started from our CEO. What sets Appirio 101 apart from other training courses is that it is 100% virtual, and yet incredibly interactive. It fully immerses new Appirians into the cloud!
  • Stratus Awards: Appirio is proud to recognize many of our deserving employees through awards. Nominations for each of our awards is open continually, and the criteria and processes are as transparent as they are encouraged. Seven awards are given annually, while two are bi-annual and one is given twice monthly. Awards range from traditional recognition for outstanding work to the most logged volunteer hours to the person who best exemplifies our culture.
  • Ideas Engine: Ideas Engine is a program in which anyone in the company can suggest an improvement. Ideas can be as simple as an addition to the office snack supply, or as complex as an in-depth technical adjustment. All ideas are reviewed by category managers and responded to in a timely basis. Last year, we had 305 ideas submitted by employees. In addition, a gamification component is added to incentivize idea suggestions.
  • Academy & Leadership Development: At Appirio, we believe that professional development should not only be ongoing, but fun and easily attainable. We built our online Appirio Academy as a one-stop shop for all internal self-study courses, workshops, and training. Appirio also provides multiple Leadership and Manager training opportunities from Manager Foundation which teaches the basics of people management as well as Situational Leadership for more developed managers. This course teaches how to diagnose the needs of individuals or teams and then use the appropriate leadership style to help them develop as employees.
  • Flexible Working: Many Appirio employees work remotely, which allows them a 100% flexible work schedule. Additionally, most employees that are local to our US office are afforded the opportunity to work from home several days a week. To successfully implement remote working, our employees are given the tools and flexibility they need to do their jobs. We provide a consumer-grade cloud technology experience for our workers. Appirians use systems that eliminate barriers to success; this allows for increased connectivity and simple global collaboration. A meeting with a colleague across the globe is only a few clicks away. The type of environment needed to feel engaged at work is specific to each individual so flexibility gives people the option to shape their own Worker Experience.
