Perks and Programs

We asked AnswerFirst Communications, Inc. to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • GEM Award Recognition Program: AnswerFirst’s GEM (Going the Extra Mile) Award was created as a way to bring light to individual heroism in the workplace. Employees who go above and beyond what is expected of them on a daily basis by making a difference in someone's life whether that be a co-worker, a client or a client’s customer are recognized and rewarded by this program. AnswerFirst created the program to show that it values employees’ extraordinary efforts. Each year individuals are nominated for the award by peers, managers or on their own behalf. One employee is named the GEM Award winner based on the results of a company wide vote. The winner is awarded a $2,000.00 bonus along with a GEM Award trophy during AnswerFirst’s annual end of year party.
  • Culture Committee: AnswerFirst’s Culture Committee was formed in 2014 with an initiative to facilitate the retention of the company’s culture while encouraging employee engagement as the organization evolved into a larger virtual environment. Everything the committee does must be inclusive for all AnswerFirst employees, no matter where the employees live or work. One example of this committee’s efforts is AnswerFirst’s National Customer Service Week celebration. Each year all employees are invited to participate in scavenger hunts and team challenges as part of the event. In April of 2018, to celebrate AnswerFirst’s 20th anniversary, the committee simulated an amazing race competition called, “The Amazing 20 years of AnswerFirst.” One part of the competition challenged employees to go out into the community and thank clients for their business. Selfies were taken to capture each moment.
  • Charity Committee: AnswerFirst commits at least 1% of annual profit to charity and community support. To that end, AnswerFirst’s charity committee is a group of volunteer employees that offer up their personal time to spearhead and support the company’s philanthropic efforts. The committee’s primary goal, fulfilling AnswerFirst’s vision of a "healthy world filled with happy people" is accomplished through partnerships with other charitable organizations; by offering both funding and volunteer time. This committee works to properly vet and select the charitable organizations that are important to AnswerFirst employees.
  • Buddy Program: AnswerFirst’s Buddy Program aims to create a comfortable environment where employees can connect with one another to communicate on non-critical issues that may arise during work. All new AnswerFirst employees are assigned a buddy who has volunteered to help acclimate new hires. The buddy is there for questions that are not time sensitive and to provide helpful hints and tips or knowledge they have obtained through job experience. The program’s goal is to help bridge the virtual gap and to make new employees feel comfortable and confident. AnswerFirst wants to ensure that all new employees have the tools and resources they need to be successful.
  • Resource Committee: AnswerFirst’s Resource Committee was created because, at times, employees may face issues and circumstances that impact their personal and professional well being. Some examples include debt and financial issues, time management problems, issues that arise when providing care to a family member, health issues and major life transitions. Many employees do not have the resources nor the experience to successfully work through these issues without a support system. As a result, these issues often manifest as poor work performance and poor attendance, which ultimately can lead to an employee losing his or her position at AnswerFirst. In an attempt to circumvent loss of employment while also assisting individuals through challenging times, Resource Committee members volunteer their time to work with employees and their personal support group (family and friends) for as long as it takes to understand their problems and to help identify solutions.
  • Employee Referral Program: AnswerFirst believes that there are no better recruiter’s than your current employees. Current employees know what it takes to be successful at AnswerFirst and help the organization identify “A” players to join its winning team. AnswerFirst encourages employees to refer their friends, family, neighbor or anyone who they feel would be ideal for employment. In return, the referrer is rewarded up to $600 as their referral reaches different milestones during the first year of their AnswerFirst career. Additionally, referrers serve as mentors for their referrals to help acclimate them and ensure their success.
  • Remote Work: AnswerFirst offers great work from home employment options for military spouses, stay at home parents or anyone who would benefit from a work from home opportunity. Our Customer Service Professional position offers a stable work from home career to those who are passionate about customer service. The position is open to anyone who has the required skills and who is willing to attain the required equipment. AnswerFirst’s remote workforce is helping to reduce the carbon footprint by not requiring employees to commute to the office, while also improving quality of life for these employees and others by not contributing to rush hour traffic.
  • New Directions Program: AnswerFirst’s New Directions program was created to bring together a group of peers that work in various departments within the organization to brainstorm ideas for forward thinking, development and growth. This program is a creative forum where no idea is a bad idea and creative contribution is recognized as an essential part of AnswerFirst’s success. Employees in this group are encouraged not to get attached to their ideas since often times their ideas inspire other ideas which lead the entire group in an entirely different direction. The main goal of the group is to find new efficient processes or innovative ideas that continue to advance AnswerFirst as a global leader in its industry.
