    How to Get Hired

We asked Adobe Systems Incorporated for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

They role model strong consulting characteristics – be brief, be bright, be gone – and they keep us wanting more. Leave us with a taste of your working style. Know what you’re great at and clearly articulate how you’re going to add value immediately. We care about motivations as much as qualifications so share the why’s and the how’s. Show us critical thinking and intellectual curiosity. In brief, interviews should feel more like a quasi-working session not just a “chemistry” conversation. While leadership may not be in a job title, it’s certainly in the job description. We look for leadership capabilities in every role that we hire for. Specifically, we look for these five leadership traits: 1. EQ: demonstrating self-awareness 2. Feedback: openness to giving and receiving feedback 3. Talent: ability to select and recruit top talent 4. Scale: maniacal focus on execution and operational rigor 5. Change: adaptability

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

We’re a big city brand but we have small town values, so we are a culture that welcomes new connections. Reach out to an employee who you know or our Talent team. This world is so small, you must know someone who works at Adobe or know someone who has a connection here. Use your network! Ask for a meeting. That shows us that you’re serious about this opportunity. Nothing can substitute meeting face-to-face—even if it’s just over video chat—and getting a sense of someone’s personality, mannerisms, the way they present themselves. When we speak live, we’ll know, pretty quickly, whether we click.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We hire across all functions and at all levels from university graduates to experienced professionals. We’re heavily focused on hiring for designers, data scientists, mobile developers, cloud engineers, researchers in big data, machine learning and artificial intelligence, as well as enterprise sales representatives.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

We’re an open book. Adobe.com and our Conversations blog (http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations) will give you a good perspective of our company and products. Our employees will give you a sneak peek into Adobe life as they’re constantly sharing their experiences on social media.
