Perks and Programs

We asked Activision Blizzard, Inc. to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Call of Duty Endowment: Co-founded by Activision Blizzard’s CEO Bobby Kotick, the Call of Duty Endowment supports veterans in their quests to find high-quality careers by identifying and funding organizations that help unemployed veterans re-enter the workforce. To date, the Endowment has funded more than 25,000 high-quality job placements—reaching that goal, set in 2013, a full two years ahead of schedule. Our employees are incredibly proud of how Activision Blizzard supports veterans, and by volunteering their ideas, time, and skills, our teams are a critical part of the Endowment’s success.
  • ACTIVISIONARIES Speaker and Concert Series: Activision Blizzard hosts an enrichment program called ACTIVISIONARIES, which brings in fascinating figures from all walks of life to entertain and inspire our teams. From TED Talk-style speakers and world-class athletes to military leaders and chart-topping musical acts, ACTIVISIONARIES has something for everyone. The events bring our community together to support the culture of inspired creativity found everywhere at Activision Blizzard.
  • Game Jams: These marathon game-development competitions bring together employees from across the company to innovate, share ideas, and vie for top prizes. The goal is to create brand-new game concepts that could eventually be brought to life and shared with the world. Employees are divided into teams and given the go-ahead to create and innovate without limits. Game Jams are an incredible opportunity for our talented employees to connect and compete with the best of the best—each other.
  • Show & Tell: To help keep employees informed of what’s going on around the company, we hold Show & Tells three times a year, where our teams share sneak peeks at upcoming in-development content, trailers, and game updates with their fellow employees. Access to this kind of confidential information is rare in our industry, but we trust our employees and want them to share in the excitement of the latest developments from across the company.
  • Treasured Service Awards: Our service awards are among the most cherished recognitions at Activision Blizzard. These elaborate steins, swords, shields, rings, crowns and classic “bronzed” game controllers, which mark employees’ work anniversaries, are especially close to our hearts because they’re instrumental to our games and the stories we tell.
  • n00b 101: n00b 101 is an onboarding program that puts a game controller into employees’ hands on day one. This official training program ensures that, from the very start, our hires live our products and our games. Game producers give hands-on tips to both “n00bs” (a gaming term used to describe a beginner or new player) and gaming veterans during orientation in our Gaming Zone. This unique training program leverages our passion for our products to welcome and inspire each new member of the family.
  • Healthcare on the Go: Mobile access is revolutionizing how people live, play and consume. With this in mind, we decided that mobility, convenience and speed should be integrated into our benefits. Through our new Doctor on Demand and Heal programs, employees can get no- or low-cost access to treatment from a doctor through a video chat or a home visit.
  • Healthy Incentive Program: This custom, app-based health and wellbeing program gives employees a $75 credit for an activity tracker or smart scale, which employees and their spouses or domestic partners can use to track physical activity and earn points. Points are converted to up to $1,000 cash for their Health Savings Account. Once the cash limit is met, employees keep earning points towards raffle entries for fun items like vacations and new furniture.
  • Celebrate Our Launches: Releasing a game is a huge undertaking that involves hundreds of people from across the company giving it their all. When a game is finally released, we host elaborate celebrations to thank everyone for their hard work. From free swag to sweet treats to champagne toasts, we commemorate our achievements in style and in the spirit of our value, You've Gotta Have Fun to Make Fun.
  • Embrace Your Inner Geek: Walk our office floors to see this value come to life—you’d be hard pressed to find a more welcoming, eclectic environment. Green hair? Check. Multiple piercings and tattoos? Check. Cubicles filled with Star Trek memorabilia? Check. At Activision Blizzard, everyone is welcome to be who they truly are.

We asked Activision Blizzard, Inc. for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

Activision Blizzard’s success is entirely due to the efforts of our extremely talented global employees. We search for people who embody inspired creativity, a commitment to excellence, integrity, and above all – a great sense of passion and pride for what we do. We welcome these highly passionate and inspired people, then unleash them to create the most engaging and innovative entertainment in the world.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

In a generation where everyone and everything is on the Internet and posted to social media, we encourage prospective employees to do non-traditional things to get noticed. Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We are always looking for smart, driven, creative people. The interactive entertainment industry is constantly evolving, so we must be forward-thinking to ensure we have the right skills to evaluate, adapt, and approach new technologies. As we expand our digital and mobile offerings, we are looking for candidates who will help get us to the next level, including those with backgrounds in esports, advertising, software engineering, business intelligence, art, and a wide range of other disciplines.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

Prospective employees can start by visiting us at www.activision.com/careers and jobs.blizzard.com. Find a path you’d like to pursue, then reach out to us. We’re eager to talk. Candidates should also spend time on our website, play our games, and engage with us on social channels.
