Perks and Programs

We asked Activision Blizzard, Inc. to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Call of Duty Endowment: Co-founded by Activision Blizzard’s CEO Bobby Kotick, the Call of Duty Endowment supports veterans in their quests to find high-quality careers by identifying and funding organizations that help unemployed and underemployed veterans reenter the workforce. To date, the Endowment has funded more than 40,000 job placements—exceeding its 25,000 goal set in 2013 a full two years ahead of schedule. Our employees are incredibly proud of how Activision Blizzard supports veterans, and by volunteering their ideas, time and skills, our teams are a critical part of the Endowment’s success.
  • ACTIVISIONARIES Speaker & Concert Series: Activision hosts a cultural enrichment program called ACTIVISIONARIES, which brings in fascinating figures from all walks of life to inspire our teams, allowing them to step away from their work to gain unique new perspectives through exclusive lectures and performances. From TED Talk-style speakers and world-class athletes to military leaders and chart-topping musical acts, ACTIVISIONARIES has something for everyone. The events bring our community together to support the culture of inspired creativity found everywhere at Activision Blizzard.
  • Game Jams: These marathon game-development competitions bring together employees from across the company to innovate, share ideas, and vie for top prizes. The goal is to create brand new game concepts that could eventually be brought to life and shared with the world. Employees are divided into teams and given the go-ahead to create and innovate without limits. Game Jams are an incredible opportunity for our talented employees to connect and compete with the best of the best—each other.
  • Unique Development Programs: Our broad-based learning programs are built on a high-touch, personalized approach to career development. MBActivision (Masters in the Business of Activision) offers a series of live interactive lectures and Q&As delivered directly by our leaders to give our employees a solid foundation in our business. Our classroom learning levels up our employees with Blizzard University, which gives them access to everything from coaching labs, leadership panels, peer-to-peer learning, and even juggling classes in our brand new, on-campus training facility.
  • Treasured Service Awards: Our service awards are among the most cherished recognitions at Activision Blizzard. These elaborate steins, swords, shields, rings, crowns and classic “bronzed” game controllers, which mark employees’ work anniversaries, are especially close to our hearts because they’re instrumental to our games and the stories we tell.
  • n00b 101: n00b 101 is an onboarding program that puts a game controller into employees’ hands on day one. This official training program ensures that, from the very start, our hires live our products and our games. Game producers give hands-on tips to both “n00bs” (a gaming term used to describe a beginner player) and gaming veterans during orientation in our Gaming Zone. This unique training program leverages our passion for our products to welcome and inspire each new member of the family.
  • Healthcare on the Go: Mobile access is revolutionizing how people live, play, and consume. With this in mind, we decided that mobility, convenience, and speed should be integrated into our benefits. Through our new Doctor on Demand and Heal programs, employees can get no-cost access to treatment from a doctor through a video chat or a home physical visit.
  • Wellbeing & Healthy Incentive Programs: Our high-touch approach to wellbeing includes one-on-one benefits consultations, healthy food options at our various offices, and the ability to choose your own workout whether it’s through an app, a discount at a local yoga studio, or in our onsite gym. We also have a range of customizable, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans through Collective Health to ensure flexibility for our individual employees’ needs. Through our app-based Healthy Incentive Program, which gives employees a $75 credit for an activity tracker or smart scale, employees and their spouses or domestic partners can also track physical activity and earn points for up to $1,000 cash in their Health Savings Account and raffle entries for a vacation and wellness retreat.
  • Family Friendly: Our employees have access to fertility support, pregnancy tracking, and a $5,000 stipend to help with the adoption process. New mothers and fathers can enjoy eight weeks of paid parental leave following the birth or adoption of a child. In partnership with Wellthy, employees now have care coordination support when caring for elderly, chronically ill, or disabled family members. To support our employees with a terminally ill loved one, eight weeks of paid Compassion Leave is provided to spend quality time with an immediate family member. In times of the sudden loss of a spouse/partner or child, employees can take eight weeks of paid Bereavement Leave to grieve.
  • Celebrate Our Launches: Releasing a game is a huge undertaking that involves hundreds of people from across the company giving it their all. When a game is finally released, we host elaborate celebrations to thank everyone for their hard work. From free swag to sweet treats, champagne toasts to trips to Las Vegas, we commemorate our achievements in style and in the spirit of our philosophy of creating fun, competition, and community.

The interactive entertainment industry is constantly evolving, so we must be forward-thinking to ensure we have the right skills to evaluate, adapt and approach new technologies. As we expand our digital and mobile offerings, we are looking for candidates who will help get us to the next level including those with backgrounds in esports, advertising, software engineering, business intelligence, art, mobile, and a wide range of disciplines. Mastering new technologies and artistic skills will always be in demand, and we want to work with people who never stop learning and challenging themselves.
